Measure

Which, when and why? To really answer any of these questions for a list of projects you need some form of measurement.

Every project we recommend should be substantiated by measurable data, such as a cost benefit report or ROI. Because measurements are made at many levels with varying degrees of detail, the amount of measurable data can vary.

How do we measure costs?
By Total Cost of Ownership, which includes tangibles and intangibles. Tangibles are highly measurable, and can include:

  • wages
  • office costs
  • computer costs
  • transaction costs

Intangible costs need to be discussed and agreed on, and include:

  • goodwill
  • customer satisfaction
  • employee satisfaction

Once costs are calculated
We can estimate the benefits that can be made from a proposed solution. We quantify:

  • reduced overheads
  • improved performance
  • increased revenue
  • increased profit margin

Measurements should be made at different stages of any given project against:

  • specific objectives
  • agreed targets
  • and on a regular performance basis

This helps to set priorities and ensure results will be delivered on completion.

Our solutions can also give you another form of measurement. Not only do we provide business efficiencies but our tools give the ability to monitor and measure your business processes – almost like a dashboard of your organisation. For example, you can easily see how many processes each individual is working on and how long they are spending on each task.
